I'm so sorry to hear of Tom's passing!  I wish I had gotten to know you better!  From reading others' comments, you really made an impression on those who knew you well.  Rest In Peace dear classmate.   Prayers to your family in their loss.

Tom and I went to Mt View  grade school. Tom's dad was the preacher at the church across the street from the school. One day Tom I and were called out of class to be the casket bearrers for a baby for a family in the church.  I think the baby died because os something called Blue baby.  I spent many times with Tom's family.  What a great guy Tom was.  I really miss him.  Dennis

I will really miss Tom.

After our Highline graduation, Tom was appointed to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and I had an appointment to the Military Academy at West Point.  We stayed in touch during those four stressful years.  During our junior year, each cadet was required spend a week at Annapolis, and each midshipman would spend a week at West Point.  So I spent a week with Tom, first at Annapolis and then at West Point. We roomed with each other, dined with each other,  and went to each other's classees  After  graduation, Tom went into the submarine service, then to law school and subsequently went to work for the Department of Defense.  When he retired, he and Jenny moved back to the Seattle area, where we reconnected.  Tom's birthday was one day later than mine (August 20th), so for the last several years, we got together for a birthday lunch.  At the Reunion we talked about doing it again next month to jointly celebrate our 83d.  I have been blown away by how gallently Tom fought his terrible disease.  What a guy!  I will never forget him.

I met Tom Springer at Mt. View School in the 5th grade.  I remember his Dad was the pastor at the church across the street from the school.  He invited several of us to attend a daily  Bible Camp in the summer...which his Dad was leading.     I remember taking a bus to a lake where it was held.  We all had such a great time.  At our 60th Reunion visited with him and Jenny.  At our 65th, saw him enter the dining room alone as Jenny was parking the car.  We found seats for the two of them and visited with him.  I brought up that summer and he said he remembered.  I was so impressed that he attened with his health issues.  After the program went to their table again to say goodbye.....he seemed so happy to be there.  Wow, what a career he had, and what a fine boy and man he was!  My sincere sympathy to his family and friends.  One of Highline's finest!

I was so happy to see Tom and Jenny at our 65th reunion and we talked about getting together at our home in Port Orchard, across the water from Seattle.  Tom and I first met at the Mt View School in the fifth grade, I think.  Across the street was the Mt. View Presbyterian church where his father was the pastor. Some of you have mentioned that time.  I remember being released from school to attend Bible classes there and summertime Daily Vacation Bible School, and camp..... I also remember Tom running up and down the aisle!  He was a fun friend.  My mother fed him a chocolate cake.  There were always a lot of people at his house!  He was my escort to the football game where I was announced as Friendship Queen in 1957 by the Girl's Club. What a wonderful class we have, made up of people who honor one another and enjoy the memories we all share.  I will never forget Tom and look forward to seeing him again in that sweet bye-and-bye!
