I met Jerry Bennett in the 5th grade at Mt. View School. ( Think we were in Mr. Koepping's class.) I had a thing for ping pong, and they kept a table up in that big covered area for rainy days when we couldn't go on the field. It was always busy by the time I finished lunch. So, Jerry and I would go down there after school and play for an hour or so daily, or until the janitor kicked us out.. He was a good teacher and I am still pretty good at the game. Remember laughing a lot with him. Always looked for him at reunions......but never saw him. Would have challenged him to a match.....and I'm sure he would have beat me!
